Speaking of calendars I have another fun, tangible way that your kids can countdown to Christmas, and that is with my FREE coloring page printables. Now when your kids ask, “when is Christmas,” you can direct them towards their Christmas paper chain countdown calendar. Such a great way to not only countdown but also for kids to learn math, sequencing, expectancy, etc. My kids get so excited everyday to see how much longer we have until Christmas. This will be such a fun way for you all to keep track of time. Voila you have yourself a Christmas Countdown Calendar! You can also make a paper chain calendar for any event you would like to make more concrete for your kids. Now towards the bottom of the toilet paper roll, cut a line for the number one strip to go through and connect it to the number two strip (see photo). You can also cut out antlers using construction paper.Ä©. Cut the pipe cleaner in half and twist them into antlers (see picture) and glue them inside the toilet paper roll at the top slightly a part from each other (see picture). Cut out a big circle nose using the red construction paper and glue it in the middle of the toilet paper roll.Äš.

Glue on two googly eyes near the top of the toilet paper roll.ħ. *Skip the next steps if you don’t wish to make the reindeer.Ä„. Continue to connect and glue all the strips this way until you get to the number 1 strip. When done you should have two chains connected. Then continue this with the number 24 strip except this time you will loop the number 24 strip in between the number 25 strip and glue the ends together. *You can also use a stapler instead of glue.Ä€. So the number 25 should be on the outside where you can see it clearly. Then starting with the number 25 strip, place some glue on the end of the side with the number on it and wrap the other end around it so the glued end connects to the side without the number on the other end until it stays in place (about 2-3 seconds). Write number 1 on one strip of paper, then 2 on another, and continue until you get to 25.ÄŁ. Cut out 25 long strips of construction paper about as wide as 2-3 fingers.Äą. *If you decide not to make the reindeer portion of this craft you don’t need these materials.
